Day 49 Strange noises and strange faces

It was an extremely busy day with skating for the middles, two appts in the afternoon, and dinner out! But I managed to capture a couple of moments.

Usually Abishai's high chair is pushed up against the dishwasher and he can't see around it. But he's been curious about the noise that is coming from the coffee maker, so I'm letting him watch  my afternoon coffee being made.

One of the times Justin let the dog out, Abishai saw him and wanted to know what he was doing.  I found them playing and laughing through the window of the door together.  So cute!  Abishai has been making this really cheesy face and I hope to capture it and share it with you at some point!

Day 48 Raisins, Chips, and Sunsets

We had a great day at our homeschool co op learning about Beethoven, Vikings, and Canadian provinces.  Abishai fell asleep while we were checking our books out at the library (where we meet), and managed to sleep through the van ride home and being carried in to his bed and continued to sleep for a total of 3 hrs!  He was probably sleeping off his needles from yesterday.

A. This girl is yes, wearing a glove on one hand just because she can.  And B. She put raisins and potato chips in the same bowl.  We had a great laugh over it and the way Mommy made those two words sound.

Gorgeous sunset that kept me wanting to run outside with my camera to capture it!

Good bye, Sun!

Day 47 Needles and Smiles

Little man had his 1 yr old well check visit today, complete with 4 shots!  They call them "needles" in Canada.  He did amazingly well! He did cry, but it wasn't a shriek or horribly loud.  He was easily calmed as well.  And soon, he was smiling and playing again!  And he flirted with the doctor soon afterwards.  He was a bit fussier this evening, but still ate well.  We were pretty busy doing school as well, so I only took this picture today!

Day 46 Impromptu Holiday

I don't always take off local, regional, or national holidays from our homeschooling but we really need a break after 4 days of constant activity.  Plus it was -4 degrees F this morning with -23 windchill!  No one had to go out and we didn't want to!  We read a little bit and then enjoyed some new things, like fancy colored ducktape and a blanket fort! The middles don't remember doing blanket forts in Indiana and we haven't done one here on PEI before, so I decided to remedy it.  Abishai liked it too!  We also finally had our Valentine's Day dinner I had planned for Saturday night, which was baked potatoes and beef strip steak with mushroom gluten free beef gravy and some veggies.  Yum!  And my nose finally stopped running after many many days and many many kleenex boxes being used up by the family.  Just a headcold, but it lasted forever.  Yeah for being on the mend!

This kid!

This indoor thermometer doesn't go below zero!

Very fair and same humidity as inside.

Mommy and baby in the same spot Abishai was born.  He was born at home, but it wasn't planned that way!

Blanket fort!

Even Abishai enjoyed the fort!

Peek a boo!

Nice and comfy!

These goofs had a good time laughing back and forth at each other.  Abishai likes to laugh a lot and does it on purpose so he can see our reactions.  He's quite the class clown!

Day 45 The Sweetest Valentine...

....it's not who you think! Today we went to church, of course, but we also celebrated Abishai's birthday with a couple of friends.  I think in future years, we are just going to focus on Abishai, because celebrating two special days was a little much for some of us.  Let's see how it went...
Sweet and simple GF chocolate cake.  It came out pretty dense and a little dry, but yummy none the less.

Abishai climbs on and in everything! Plus, cute cloth diaper!

Decorations! I made the banner myself and it turned out so well!

One of our sweet friends that took care of the kids when Abishai was born.  He LOVES his new tractor!

Fire!

I like how the lighting and crispness of this photo came out!

Poor kid couldn't pick up this hunk of cake, so he dived in!  Daddy saved the day and broke it up into smaller pieces.

A gorgeous day!  Unlike the huge snowstorm we got on the 14th, last year! And not as much snow either.  But we did have a couple of inches of snow fall last night.  Pretty snow!

Day 44 Abishai's 1st birthday!

I cannot believe Abishai turned 1 today! What a wonderful, filled year of laughs, joy, crazy antics, and pure fun this kid is!  I might have taken 168 pictures of him today.  Yes, actually I did! It was photoshoot today!  Here are some highlights! P.S. And I'm so proud of myself for learning to do shells with a star icing tip! I'm not the next Master Chef, but, I love learning new things!  Grandpa Howell would have been proud!

Day 43 Quiet

Today was a pretty quiet day, which is good because Momma has the headcold the kids do/did.  But today, we started to celebrate Abishai's birthday (tomorrow) by thinking about where we all were at different times of the day before he was born.  I love his birth story.

Cutest kid in the tub!

Abishai is "kissing" the vacuum cleaner'!

A little Valentine's Day decor.
A work in progress...To be continued....
