Where the Journey Begins
Well, I thought it was time to start our own blog as a way to communicate with our ever-widening circle of friends. So, here goes. We've agreed to move to Prince Edward Island, Canada. Where, you say? To the NorthEAST, no, not Maine. Further North and to the East...Where's Maine? Well, forget it then. Time to look it up on a map. Most people hear, Prince Edward Island, and think (rightly so), Anne of Green Gables. Yes, it is where that story takes place as well as the TV Mini Series, Anne of Avonlea. But, folks, what you need to remember is that the scenes dancing in your head is what it looks like in the summer on the Island, which only lasts a few short months. The average high in the summer is 75 degrees, and the low in the winter is about 5 degrees colder than in Indiana. The big difference is that there are more cloudy days there (PEI) then here (IN). There is a lot more snow, which is not an issue if you like to be snowed in like I do. The countryside is hilly and the atmosphere is rural. Being an island bearing only 130,000 or so residents in the square mileage of possibly NH size, it definitely has that small town feel. When you walk out of a plane, down the stairs, and collect your baggage from a cart on the tarmac, you know you are in small town North America. Oh, and that plane, it's a prop plane. But it sounds like home to me...

Thanks. I love reading blogs, so I have fallen in love with their back and forth bantering and upbeat spirit. I don't claim to be a writer, though. I journal a ton and that has helped over the years. Thanks!
