Year 2, Day 330, 331, & 332: When Sickness Abounds

Let's try to recreate the last 3 days for you.  Momma's been sick, sick, sick.  Remember, I started this cold 2 weeks ago, and I thought I was getting over it, but alas, it's back with a vengeance yesterday and today (Tuesday, Nov. 28th).  And it's the kind where all your sinuses are blogged and your eyes are watery and you have a sinus headache.  You go through a whole kleenix box in 6 hrs.  But the show must go on.  So we got up really early yesterday and today because I thought Abishai had a doctor's appointment yesterday, but it was today.  We came home yesterday right away and got to work because I knew that Tuesday and Wednesday were full of appointments, library, and gymnastics.  I'll break it down:

Tuesday:
Doctor's appt at 8:45 for Abishai for well check and 1 immunization
Library at 10, after dropping off recycling and checking with Jared so we killed enough time before the library opened.
I was going to have a 2pm dental cleaning appt but canceled that due to my nose.

Wednesday:
Jared takes himself, Benaiah and Justin to the dentist while I take Keturah and Abishai to gymnastics.  Benaiah gets dropped off at school after the dentist. Then Jared either stays with Justin and Abishai while I take Keturah to her dental appt and pick up Benaiah from school or vice versa.  Then we have just enough time for supper and Bible Bowl.

This leaves very little time for Mom to be sick and kids to have teacher time for homeschooling.  Ugh! I've taken the max amount of medication I dare take and it has only put a dent in the runny nose.  Benaiah has a bit of it, too.

Nevermind that I have a Lilla Rose boutique to close and the website was slow yesterday with the end of the Black Friday sale.  AND I have to prepare for Benaiah's school's craft fair this coming Saturday where my friend and I are having a booth.  I do not like these crazy schedules to begin with but being sick on top of it, allows no enjoyment of life whatsoever.

Rant over, but there aren't that many pictures or stories to really tell.  Life just is this week.  And my anxiety and anger is back as well.  There's not rhyme or reason to that this time.  I'm just moody and it's not the monthly kind. Therefore, here's what good news I have....

Between my Lilla Rose boutique and some outside sales, I was able to pay for 2/3 of Keturah's lenses she needed!  Insurance didn't cover them because we had just used insurance to buy them in July.  Woot! Woot!

Abishai's appetite today was through the roof, even with getting an immunication.  That's a good thing because he's in the 6th percentile for weight at 26 lbs and 12th percentile for height.  Just like Justin was.  He ate several different carbs and grapes at breakfast, six chicken nuggets and more carbs and fruit at lunch, and lots of chicken and veggies at dinner, plus milk! He slept 3 1/2 hrs today for his nap as well.  He's been sleeping 2 hrs, which I've had to get used to and make sure I'm on top of things I want to do that I can only when he's asleep, like take a nap myself.

Monday night we watched a movie about Jeremiah in the Old Testament from 1998 from Affirm films and it was good.  Not cheesy, not overdone.  I don't know Jeremiah's story well enough in order to compare it to the Bible, but I don't think it was too far off.

Jared's trees and bushes he ordered came in the mail.  He had to soak the roots for at least 3 hrs, but not over 6 hrs.  And since we don't get mail until 7:30 pm (why? why can't it come earlier?), he was outside planting trees in the dark, in the cold, and with a flashlight between 10 and 11pm.  No joke!  Tree hugger!

And finally, and most importantly, Jared will be getting a raise in January that will help ease our budget woes!  We will still have to be super careful but we won't be in crisis mode anymore.  Yeah!

Sunday morning wake up.  Monday and Tuesday we woke up in the dark because Abishai's appointment time was 8:45am, so I got up at 6:45am.

I brought the vegetables plants inside when the temperatures dropped and look, the tomatoes are turning red!

Green peppers are still growing!

The book was propped up somehow, so Abishai used it as a tunnel.

Hey, look, it's tree and bush seedlings! 7 of them all bundled together.  Shipped in a box to your front door!

7 trees/bushes came in this long box.  I can't wait to see what they will actually grow into.  I'm definitely not a tree enthusiast like Jared is, so I don't have a clue.  I care only about the flower beds.
We made it to library story time this week!  Yeah! Abishai played with this garage and insisted that the color of the car needed to match the color on the garage door.  At least he didn't fight over other trucks and vehicles this week.

It was gingerbread man day at storytime.  I helped Abishai with his glitter glue, obviously, but he liked it!

It was 60 degrees F (while Charlottetown, PEI was getting a few inches of snow) outside, so we took advantage of getting some fresh air.  Although, it was supposed to be naptime.

Barefoot, in a tree, on November 28th, with a Santa hat.  Indiana winters are too warm!

She didn't fall, but purposefully flipped over.

Clay candy cane Keturah made.  Justin made a pokemon of some sort, too.  I guess they at least had art class, and did their independent work, while I was out of commission.

Benaiah, Justin, and Keturah made all of these wooden train pieces and gingerbread houses at the Lowe's Build and Grow Saturday morning sessions with Grandpa many years ago, like in 2011 and 2012.  Now Abishai gets to play with them!

Updated "J" art piece.  Jared cut off the moldy bits and is staining and clear coating it.  He also put Christmas lights on it, and put red and green lights in the regular garage door outside lights for fun.

I can finally display all of my snowman collection at once!  Woot! Woot!

Fluffing the tree on Sunday evening.  It's a small tree with just 3 parts, the top, the middle, and the stand.  It was the tree we used during our first Christmas that someone from church gave us. My parents used it for awhile and then we used it at the condo last year.

Everybody can help now!

Oooo, lights!

Always climbing!

Putting on the lights, Jared style.  Which means, he goes back and forth on the front branches, but doesn't wrap the tree in lights in a spiral fashion like I grew up doing.

Apparently it takes 3 kids to fix the tree skirt.

Benaiah lifted the tree up so Jared could put some wooden blocks under it and make it look taller.  And you can also see that Jared fixed my parents' mirror and hung it as well.

Are these stockings or boxing gloves?

Boxing gloves!

Wrestling as always.

Everybody has to put on at least one ornament.  We will do the rest of the ornaments later when Mommy feels better.

Always sword fighting.

A hint of blue hair color because she wanted it.  It washes out in one wash though.

We changed out the front window lights to white ones so we could use the colored ones on the tree and the J outside.

Full effect of tree and lights.

Keturah can reach and swing event better now because she has grown taller!

What is this?! A dandelion in the end of November?! Crazy!? and Benaiah did finish mowing today finally.

The flamingo pose from gymnastics.

Abishai just had to have some swinging time on the big tire.
