Unlike last year, we just haven't had a whole lot of snow and barely any "storms." I consider a storm anything bigger than 12 inches of snowfall and when it knock out power and shuts down government buildings and businesses. Today's storm "dumped" 8 inches I think. The winds are supposed to pick up overnight, which causes blowing and drifting which can be worse than the storm itself. We did get some freezing rain too. So, the kids happily cleared the porch and driveways. No, seriously, there was no complaining about it. Out they went. Yeah! Except poor Abishai who couldn't understand why the others got to be outside and he was stuck inside. He had a blast yelling at them though. Pictures don't do his antics any justice anymore. Thank goodness for being able to load videos to YouTube! (always "unlisted," never "public"). Otherwise, it was great day with school accomplished (no days off for snow when you homeschool), a yummy turkey in the crockpot, "storm doughnuts" instead of "storm chips," and lots of puttering around. And of course, lots of walking practice! Abishai walked from one room to another without holding onto anything and turned corners! (See link below the pictures). So adorable!
